We meet at Whirlpool State Park in Niagara Falls, NY USA. We start this tour by looking down into The Whirlpool rapids from the rim of the Niagara River gorge. We will hike along the rim and then descend a 400 stone staircase into the gorge. When we reach the bottom will hike to the Whirlpool butterfly rock. Along the way you’ll learn about the river and historical events.
When we reach The Whirlpool, you will have time to explore on your own, be mesmerized by the famous Whirlpool rapids and take some of the best photos of your vacation. We will then take the trail and stone staircase back to our meeting spot. This tour is not recommended for children under the age of 10. The park has bathrooms, but close at dusk.

There you’ll have time to browse and shop at antique and specialty shops. Foodies will have a chance to taste treats from famous family bakeries, ice cream and frozen custard stands. Enjoy a local beer, glass of wine or marvel at the beautifully manicured parks maintained by the local garden club. We’ll visit the monument dedicated to the last stop of the Underground Railroad and stroll along the picturesque riverfront and marina. You’ll also have the option to take an included scenic 2-mile/one hour guided hike along the Niagara River gorge and under the Lewsiton bridge or you can decide to have more time to shop in town – the choice is yours! Your guide will customize the tour to your interests to make the most of your vacation. After the tour, your guide will drop you off at your hotel, a nearby local attraction or a recommended restaurant for lunch or dinner.
